Here is some additional information about these projects and a few things you need to know before starting by yourself.

What you will need

In order to get started on your aluminum roofing do-it-yourself project, there are a few items that you will need. Be sure that you get all of these items so that your shingles are connected properly, and you are safe while completing the job.

Safety equipment

Every time you are on a rooftop, your goal should be to protect yourself and work safely. There are too many stories about someone thinking that they will be okay without safety equipment, only to fall off the roof and injure themselves. Safety equipment that you should get for your aluminum roofing do-it-yourself project includes gloves, work boots, safety glasses, long pants, and knee pads. With the use of this safety equipment, you will protect yourself and lower the chances of getting injured while working.

In addition to your safety equipment, you should think about what tools you will need to actually install the shingles. Aluminum shingles are known for being easy to install, but they still require a few tools to get the job done effectively and correctly. Tools that you will need for your aluminum roofing do-it-yourself job include a hammer, stapler, tin snips, utility knife, and patches/sealants. Once you have all these tools, you will have everything that you need to complete your DIY roofing project.

Last but not least, you must purchase your aluminum shingles once you have all of your safety equipment and tools. Shingle shapes that we make include hip and ridge caps, original Aluma-Lock shingles, gable flashings, end wall flashings, valley flashings, and more.
